These are very cool saxophones that have a bit of a cult following and for good reason. This is an H-Couf Superba II alto saxophone from 1978 custom built to Herb Couf’s specifications by Keilwerth in Germany. H-Couf Superba II Alto Saxophone - $1,495 (Goleta).It's super dark with heavy low overtone and extremely mellow because the body of the horn is so low. This Bari has the classic Keilwerth "growl". This Bari comes in the original case which is good condition. The engraving on the bell goes all the way down the front and has the words "H. This is a pro-line Bari Sax with the low A key, High (or Front) F key, and cut tone holes.

On the side of the body made by Julius Keilwerth, The lacquer is clean and shiny so you can see your reflection in the horn This Herb Couf Superba I is in absolutely mint condition. This horn has pads that still seal very well, It comes in the original COUF premium case, which is great for shipping. Lacquer is in excellent shape with minor light marks. This one has the low A key, and goes up to high F. The keywork is comfortable, and the horn has good intonation as well.

The Couf bari has a big, warm tone and sounds better than most other vintage baris out there.
